Policy, Progress, and Practice: Development from the Margins

This is the thinking engine behind CEF. Our Articles page brings together rigorous writing and frontline experience to shape conversations on ethical development, sustainable infrastructure, and inclusive governance — all grounded in the realities of delivering services in places that most systems don’t reach.

Each article reflects a pillar of our mission: advocacy, operations, and community-driven programs. Together, they form a growing knowledge base for changemakers, funders, researchers, and governments committed to equity in development.

Updates, Insights, and Stories from the Ground

Welcome to the official blog of the Collective Empowerment Foundation (CEF) — a living journal of the people, programs, and places that shape our mission.

Whether you’re a supporter, policymaker, volunteer, or someone passionate about ethical development, this is your front-row seat to real-time progress across some of the world’s most remote communities.

Here, we don’t just tell stories — we share evidence of impact, challenges faced, and program breakthroughs as they happen. From the rivers of Western Province to the mountain passes of Telefomin, our blog follows the day-to-day heartbeat of CEF’s work, told by those leading and living it.

Reflections & Learnings

Our team doesn’t shy away from complexity. Expect honest insights into what worked, what didn’t, and what we’re doing differently next time.

Our blog bridges the gap between field-based practice and public accountability, allowing our community of supporters to stay deeply connected to the work their contributions make possible.

Dive into our latest posts and journey with us into the world’s last-mile communities.

The Birthing Initiative – Project Blog

The Birthing Initiative is CEF’s life-saving maternal health program in remote Papua New Guinea, created to ensure no mother gives birth alone or at risk. Through hospital support, full-service care, and the CEF Birthing House, we remove the barriers to safe, dignified childbirth.

This blog shares daily updates from the field—progress reports, real stories, and on-the-ground insights as the initiative unfolds.
