Our Work

Creating Sustainable Impact in the World’s Most Remote Regions

Four Key Areas

Our work focuses on four core areas:

Development Projects

We design, deliver and monitor renewable energy, clean water, and medical provision projects based on public and private sector needs.

Targeted Programs

Tailored to social issues, programs like our Safe Birth Program in Papua New Guinea, provides mothers with safe, accessible childbirth support.

Research & Consultancy

We produce evidence-based policy advice and monitoring and evaluation services that help governments and partners design, fund, and scale projects/programs that in frontier contexts.

Partnerships

We collaborate with partners to scale impact and generate positive synergy wether it is in the form of project co-deliveries, data sharing or learning from eachother.

Empowered from Within

We recruit and train local employees and volunteers to support delivery on the ground. From community outreach and basic program administration to logistics support and follow-up with households. By building skills, leadership, and local ownership, we strengthen community capability so projects can be sustained locally and progressively operate without external dependence. Built to Step Back

At CEF, our goal is to build self-sufficient communities that thrive independently through planning, community engagement, and sustainable solutions. We believe in the concept of planned obsolescence, meaning we succeed when we are no longer needed. All of our work is carried out with this in mind.

Community Engagement

Community involvement is at the heart of our work. We engage local leaders, residents and policy makers to shape every project we carry out to ensure cultural relevance, community ownership, and lasting impact.

Developing Country Relief Organisation

CEF is officially classified by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a section 9.1.1 Developing Country Relief Fund, a rare status awarded after rigorous government evaluation. This classification highlights our accountability, transparency, and impact, enabling us to direct our work efficiently across international jurisdictions, whilst ensuring that all contributions above AUD $2 to our organization in Australia are tax deductible.
